Design and construction of drinking water facility

Searching for the best method for clean drinking water.

Tauw is helping design and construct an installation that will provide the Iranian city of Birjand with clean drinking water. The drinking water currently contains too much chromium(VI) and the hardness of the water is too high. Tauw has examined whether the so-called pellet water softening technique is usable for the removal of chromium(VI) from drinking water. The tests have shown that chromium level are insufficiently reduced, but that the reduction of hardness works well. Chromium(VI) will from now on be removed through the use of osmosis membranes.
