Restoring and improving levees en floodwalls around New Orleans
Post-Katrina New Orleans better protected against floods
In 2005, hurricanes Katrina and Rita caused great damage in the US Gulf Coast region. Louisiana. In New Orleans, the levees failed and a large part of the city flooded. With support of Dutch consulting engineers, the US Army Corps of Engineers is working to restore and improve the levees and floodwalls. Arcadis will supply design services, multi-disciplinary advice and construction management for the future protection of the New Orleans area against flooding.
