Seawater Air-conditioning (SWAC)

Air-conditioning with seawater

Location: The Netherlands Antilles

SeaWater Air-Conditioning (SWAC) is an innovative system, which uses cold water from the depths of the sea (or lakes) as a coolant for air-conditioning systems of buildings situated in a close radius. A SWAC system is suitable for buildings (for instance hotels, offices) which are cooled with conventional central air-conditioning, especially when chilled water runs through these buildings as a coolant. Deerns has successfully applied the system in the Netherlands Antilles.
