JongNL|TALK – Energy Transition & Grid Congestion
Engelstalig (online) | June 16 | 12:00-13:00
During this JongNL|TALK, George Koolman (Haskoning) takes us into the world of grid congestion and the energy transition, sharing insights from both the Netherlands and Australia. This time in English!!
Grid congestion is stalling the energy transition in the Netherlands, but elsewhere, the challenge is often even more fundamental: no grid at all.
In this talk, George Koolman contrasts Europe with Western Australia, where world-class renewable resources exist with limited or without the infrastructure to unlock them. He shows how large-scale Energy Hubs (combining renewables, storage and firming) are turning this constraint into an opportunity to accelerate global industrial growth and the energy transition.
💡 As our reliance on energy continues to grow, so does the pressure on existing infrastructure. What happens when the grid becomes the bottleneck and where do new opportunities emerge?
This JongNL|TALK will be held entirely in English to reach a broader audience.
