The compressor station in Winksele in Belgium increases the pressure of the low-calorific natural gas in the pipeline of Poppel on the Netherlands border to Blaregnies on the French border. With a maximum working pressure of 66.2 barg, the regions around Brussels, Leuven and Mechelen are supplied with gas. The station consists of four compressors and provides a maximum compression capacity of 3.500.000 Nm3/h. Each compressor has a power of 18 MW. Iv-Offshore & Energy and Joint Venture partner VSH were the main contractors for the entire project, with Iv-Offshore & Energy also being responsible for the complete design of the compression station and the procurement for equipment.
